Job Description: Lift Technician
Position Overview
Relis Lifts company is seeking a skilled and reliable Lift Technician to join our Johannesburg team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and modernization of elevators and escalators, ensuring they operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install new lift systems, including mechanical, electrical, and control components.
- Conduct routine inspections, servicing, and preventative maintenance on elevators and escalators.
- Diagnose faults and carry out timely repairs to minimize downtime.
- Perform modernization and upgrades to existing lift systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and service reports.
- Provide technical support and guidance to clients and colleagues on Shindler, Otis and STEP Equipment
- Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and call-outs.
Qualifications & Skills
- Trade certification or diploma in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Proven experience as a Lift Technician or in a related field.
- Strong knowledge of lift systems, electrical circuits, and mechanical components.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Physical fitness and willingness to work at heights or in confined spaces.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites.
